I missed this writing on my blog for a long time,it is somewhat I think a good time to express all sorts of emotions that I really missed.....Before anything else, I just wanna emphasize this quotation to those who are wishing and yearning to become teacher someday, “Good Teaching Is More Giving of Right Questions Than A Giving of Right Answer”
“Why” is the very rare question that occurred or mentioned by our friends as students, or for some of us, the students that we are taught. Then the question is why it happened. Why the question “why” is lost? The only answer is that we or our students has been taught by the system of the teacher giving the answers and never ask them the question which will open their way to get the answers. The teachers always supply the answers. The critical mind is only none.
But that is not the main point for today. The point is that the quotes “good teaching is more giving of the right question than a giving of right answer” need to be explained. As have been said before, the system of teaching by supplying the answers has been losing the critical mind. Because Supplying the student with the answers is the way of making sure that the student always have the correct answer and has the exact answer like the teacher said.
They will lose a feeling of curiosity or they will only apply all of them, but will get a big difficulty if they face the new problems. That’s way a good teaching should be giving the right question, should not giving a correct answer directly. As teacher, we should asking students questions and only questions are used to arouse curiosity and at the same time serve as a logical that enables students to figure out about a complex topic or issue with their own thinking and insights, Instead of students tend to get stuck at some point and need a teacher’s explanation of some aspect, or the teacher gets stuck and cannot figure out a question that will get the kind of answer or point desired, or it just becomes more efficient to “tell” what you want to get across. They miss the point that getting answers wrong actually helps students learn.
Yes, it is a good teaching when you ask the right though You will start to see students slowly, often painfully, at first. They will ask for the correct answer instead of try by themselves. Nevertheless after the process the students will see that they’re happy of not having the right answers as a declaration and they are admirably curious.
As what I have observed, I have an instructor this current semester, I don't know how could I relate every time he is discussing the lesson and this lesson is somewhat quiet difficult from its subject title itself. I am worry about this because it is apparent that I myself and even my classmates are just taking it for granted or just for completion only.
This quotes overall tells us the ways you can inspire the students to speak their minds and question freely in your classroom, build a learner, full of ideas, hypotheses, and reflections. They will begin to see that they — just like their teacher — are explorers of knowledge and ideas.Try to put yourself in my shoes so you could feels what I am feeling about it......I hope you all be inspired from this.
